Getting started

Ten minutes from install to a real statement.

Nothing is sent until you enable the schedule at the end of set-up, and the first cycle waits for your approval. Here is the whole path.

Install on Shopify

    Install from the Shopify App Store

    StatementClerk opens inside your Shopify admin. It asks for read-only access to companies and customers (for each company's billing contact), orders, payment terms and draft orders — it never writes to your store.

    See your companies and what they owe

    The app reads your order history and lists every company that has placed an order, with its balance, what is overdue and the earliest due date among its open invoices — before you set anything.

    Pick a schedule

    Monthly on the 1st, 15th or last day, or weekly, at the hour you choose in your store's timezone. The app shows the date of the next run and the period it will cover.

    Add your branding and payment instructions

    Your logo and accent colour, the remit-to lines printed under your name, and how customers should pay — bank details, or paying by card from the invoice link in their order email. All of it can be changed later in Settings.

    Look at a real statement

    Pick a company and see its statement for the most recent closed period, built from your own data, with a note if it would be held or skipped. If the opening balance, the open items and the days past due look right, enable the schedule.

    Approve the first cycle

    Review mode is on to begin with. The first statements are built the next time your chosen hour comes round, for the most recent closed period, and wait in the review queue; from then on they follow the schedule. If none of your companies had ordered by the end of that period, the first ones are built on the schedule's next run day. Approve them all at once or one by one, skip any, and open the held ones to see why. After a clean cycle, switch to autopilot if you like.

Once you are set up, Shopify Sidekick can answer questions about your statements, balances and settings from StatementClerk — who is overdue, why a statement is held, where to change something. It only reads; every change is made in the app.
